CYPRUS. Salamis. Evagoras I, circa 411-374 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 10.85 g, 5 h). [𐠁𐠄𐠲𐠍𐠦] ('e-u-wa-ko-ro' in Cypriot syllabic script) Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdres. Rev. 𐠞-π ͺ𐠐𐠃/𐠩 ('pa-si-le-wo-se' in Cypriot syllabic script) EY Male goat with long horns and beard recumbent to right on dotted ground line; above, grain of barley; below to right, 𐠧 ('ru' in Cypriot syllabic script). Masson & Amandry II.B., - (unlisted reverse syllable). Tziambazis 113. Zapiti & Michaelidou 6. Rare and beautifully toned, an impressive example. Minor traces of overstriking and with a light scrape on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
